Ed Klein currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for the Chardon Local Schools (Chardon, OH), where he is responsible for curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. Prior to this, Dr. Klein was the Principal of Beachwood High School (Beachwood, OH), where he collaborated with staff to increase enrollment in AP courses by 86%, while attaining graduation rates near or at 100% each year, and increasing rankings on state and national metrics. Dr. Klein began his career at Euclid High School (Euclid, OH), where he served as an English Teacher, Coach, Assistant Principal, and Small School Principal. In 2012, he was named the Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Ohio.
Dr. Klein holds a PhD from Kent State University, specializing in distributed leadership. Dr. Klein has presented at national and state conferences, and is an adjunct instructor for aspiring principals.
