Nikki Norris is currently the Principal at Prettyboy Elementary School for Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) in Baltimore, Maryland. She served as the Principal at Lansdowne Middle School during the Gates Foundation UDL implementation project as well as the Towson University Presidential Scholar UDL project, a collaborative with BCPS and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education at the University of Delaware and her Master’s Degree in Education in an At-Risk Student Concentration at Goucher College. Prior to becoming an administrator, Nikki was a Special Educator in elementary and middle school self-contained and inclusion classes. Nikki has presented nationally on the UDL implementation process, which includes Harvard Graduate School of Education’s UDL Summer Institute and the 2016 UDL-IRN Summit. Under her leadership, Prettyboy Elementary was recognized by the UDL-IRN as a UDL Model Demonstration Site. Nikki consults with All In! Education and supported educators at Cesar Chavez High School in Houston, TX with their Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Transforming High School Learning Environments (THSLE) project. Nikki recently wrote a chapter for UDL: Moving from Exploration to Integration which was edited by Elizabeth Bequist, EdD.
