In this session we will describe trauma and its impact on the brain.  We will explore trauma as a root of mental illness.  Using a ‘trauma informed’ approach participants will learn how to expand on UDL principles to meet the needs of a broader range of students.
We will explore the foundations of trauma informed education and give participants an opportunity to reflect on what experiences of trauma may looks like in the classroom.
Participants will reflect on their own practices and be given concrete tools to integrate trauma informed education into their work.
