Pathway to Academic Success: development of a blended UDL Faculty Training Program

With funds provided by Hispanic Serving Institutions Title V Program, the College of Sciences at Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico has developed a training program for faculty in Universal Design for Learning (UDL).  This program aims to train faculty members in the use and applications of UDL principles with and without technology. The workshops allow the incorporation of innovative strategies and methods to enhance curricula in face to face, online and blended courses. The faculty training involves face to face and online workshops with supplemental online materials that includes videos, assignments and online discussion forums for the development of an effective learning community. The faculty’s perceptions of methods used in training, including Interest and willingness to adopt UDL to support and supplement classroom instruction will be presented.
