This session will focus on fostering high-quality UDL personnel preparation and professional development. It will illustrate real world UDL implementation success at district and school levels as well as provide insight into some of the barriers encountered.
We talk a lot about multiple means in Universal Design for Learning. Multiple means of Action and Expression, Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation. This session shall strive to extend that concept to Multiple Means of Implementation by targeting three separate educational institutions (one district, one community school and one early college high school) in Las Cruces, NM and El Paso, TX as they strive to provide high-quality UDL personnel preparation and professional development in non-traditional forms. Caution: Some of the ways of implementing UDL have bordered on guerilla tactics.
