Participants will discuss Universal Design of Instruction (UDI) as a framework to meet the variable needs of students in higher education, including those in teacher preparation programs. Discussion will center around identification and refinement of UDI practices participants currently implement, as well as the inclusiveness and accessibility of those practices for all students. Benefits and barriers to use of UDI in higher education will be identified and possible solutions considered. Effective and realistic implementation of UDI in higher education, faculty supports needed for implementation of UDI, and directions for future research will be the main outcomes of this presentation.
